Dr. Olorunsola E. Olowofeso

Dr. Olorunsola E. Olowofeso, PhD is the current Director-General, West African Monetary Institute, Accra, Ghana. He was formally a Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria. He has about 29 years’ working experience and is well-versed in regional integration issues and current developments facing the ECOWAS sub-region.

In 2008, Olowofeso was an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, before joining the Central Bank of Nigeria. He holds a bachelor’s degree, MSc. in Statistics, MSc. in Economics, and a Ph.D.

He has considerable research experience in the field of regional integration, multilateral and trade integration, financial integration, statistical harmonization, and database development. He is versatile in the use of Econometric tools to conduct macroeconomic analysis.

He served an Executive Member of the Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics, Bank for International Settlement, Basel, Switzerland from 2014 -2020, where he helped in providing fascinating platform for economists around the world to share cutting-edge methods, knowledge, experience, brainstorm and build strong collaborative network to the progress of the central bank development.
