Winston Nelson Jr

Winston is the CEO of Amber Securities LTD (a Licensed Dealing Member of the Ghana Stock Exchange) and President of the Ghana Securities Industry Association (Ghana’s capital market’s trade body). For the past two decades, he has led and successfully executed many landmark transactions and contributed immensely to various developmental projects within the industry ranging from rules reviews, building new markets and products, and influencing capital market policies. His expertise covers securities trading, research, stock market listings and delistings, mergers & acquisitions and capital markets development strategies.

Winston was a member of the committee responsible for setting-up the Ghana Fixed Income Market in 2015. He is currently a member of the steering committee tasked with the implementation of the Capital Market Master Plan, a strategic plan promoted by the Securities & Exchange Commission and the Domestic Credit Rating Agency sponsored by the Ministry of Finance.

Winston serves on various boards and committees such as – Governing Council of the Ghana Fixed Income Market, Business Conduct Committee of Central Securities Depository (GH) Limited and the Governing Council of the Ghana Securities Industry Association. He also served on the Board of the Ghana Stock Exchange between 2009 and 2015.

In 2022, He was recognised by the Ghana Stock Exchange for his pivotal role in the establishment of the Ghana Fixed Income Market and continuous development of the fixed income market in Ghana.

Winston is a graduate of the University of Ghana Business School and the Department of Economics of the University of Ghana, where he obtained a BA in Economics & Management, and Brunel University, UK, where he obtained an MSc in International Money, Finance and Investments. He is also an authorised dealing officer of the Ghana Stock Exchange.
